POSITION VACANCY Master’s Degree or higher in speech/language pathology from a state approved four-year college/university. Valid Missouri speech/language pathologist license and/or valid Missouri teaching certificate. Prefer Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech, Hearing and Language Association.
Assignments and
Responsibilities:
The Speech/Language Pathologist will work under the direct supervision of the principal of Maryville Middle School and the special education director of Maryville R-II. All school district employees must comply with policies and regulations adopted by the Board of Education and set forth in the district’s policy manual. Assignments and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following duties:
Perform screenings for speech, language, and hearing.
Evaluate students for speech or language impairments
Develop programs, provide treatment, and complete assessments of speech therapy services
to meet individual needs of speech/language and hearing impaired children as per the IEP
Prepare evaluation reports and supporting documents for each student upon referral and
continuously throughout their educational program.
Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans for each qualifying student.
Collaborate with other members of the staff in planning and implementing instructional
goals, objectives, and methods.
Maintain lists and schedules of referred, screened, and eligible students receiving therapy or
other school-provided speech/language services.
Deliver services that are billable to MO HealthNet and keep adequate records to support the billing process.
Assist in referrals of students to agencies and specialists in the community as appropriate.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Compensation:
Full-time or part-time, 9-month position. Based on appropriate placement on current district salary schedule. Major medical and liability insurance furnished by district for full-time employees. Sick leave and personal leave as per Board policy.
