The 32nd Annual Special Education Administrators' Conference was held at Tan Tar A Resort on September 20-22, 2009.  Over 1000 attendees were present for the 2 1/2 day conference. 

MSBA once again sponsored the Law Seminar on Sunday, September 20th. Distinguished speakers included:  Shellie Guin, Celynda Brasher, John Brink, Kelly Hopkins and the Q&A Panel, Steven Beldin, Ransom Ellis, James Thomeczek and Phyllis Wolfram.  MO-CASE sincerely thanks the Missouri School Boards Association for their continued sponsorship of this important part of our conference.

The President's Reception, made possible by our generous sponsors,  followed the Law Seminar  and we were again fortunate that Claim Care sponsored the Becky Blackaby Band.  Other sponsors for the conference included:  I Station, Tri County Lodging Association, Cambium Learning Sopris West, Scholastic, Mickes Goldman O'Toole, LLC, Computer Automation Systems, Inc. Monday's general session  featured a dynamic and motivating Keynote Speaker in Mr. John O'Leary.  His message  challenged the educators in the audience to move past their comfort zone, dream big, plan smart and take action to soar in life.  Monday afternoon began the first of over 50 breakout sessions and over 60 Exhibitors were onhand to showcase their products and services. 

MO-CASE was very pleased to have the National CASE President, Dr. Emily Collins on hand throughout the conference. 

Other highlights of the conference included the recognition of our four Charles Cummings Scholarship Winners:  Michael Barla, Leigh Wittmeyer, Cynthia Hall and Amy Cusumano.  This year the Charles Cummings Scholarship Raffle raised over $1200!

Ms. Debbie From was recognized as the Outstanding New Special Education Administrator and Dr. Kim Ratcliffe received the MO-CASE Distinguished Service Award.  Pictures of all the award winners can be found on the Awards/Scholarship page.
